Armani Perfumes

The most recognized Italian designer - Giorgio Armani was born in 1934 Piacenza, Italy. During the 60s he entered into the fashion world almost by chance. He tried this after being a photographer and trying studying medicine at Milan University.

After serving the army he started his window dresser career for "La Rinascente", a well-known department in Milan. He recognized this period of time as being the one that helped him form his own style as this job asked for a lot of trips to England, land of elegance and refinement. Once he even bought some yellow cardigans from England and made an interesting impression on his Italian fellows who thought that kind of clothing is worn by royalty. So, inspired by English fashion, Armani developed his distinct style.

After having solid information on fabric and design, he was hired as a designer for Nino Cerruti's men's clothing company. Later on, he became a designer for Hitman and then for Zegna and Ungaro. Only after 10 years, in 1976, Armani presented his own menswear label. And, then, after only one another year he showed his womenswear collection to the public.

Armani developed several other lines, like Swimwear, Underwear, Giorgio Armani Junior, Occhiali and Accessories. In 1981 he capitalized showing to the audience a new chain of stores for the less expensive lines, Emporio Armani and Armani Jeans.Pat McGrath designed a special line of make-ups for Armani in 2000. Now, Armani's empire has about 2,000 emporia all around the world giving sales of 1 billion dollars yearly. In 1998, at his presentation assisted guests like Mark Wahlberg, Spike Lee, Wyclef Jean of The Fugees, Sophia Loren, Martin Scorsese and Robert de Niro.

Armani always thought that clothes should be created to be worn and not only seen so, he finished by being considered a classic menswear designer and a modern womenswear designer.80's wide-shouldered power suit has been now adjusted to be more sensible in shape and more low key.
