Guccio Gucci who was born in 1881 in Florence, Italy and was the son of a craftsman.In 1906 he had a saddlers shop named the House of Gucci.He was really gifted in working and designing from leather.In the 20s Gucci sold leather bags to horsemen. After a period of time he progressed to elite luggage and change his clientele and in 1938 Guccio Gucci launched his retail trade on Via Condotti, Rome.

Gucci logo and recognized trademark which consists in a shape of a leather bag sporting a bamboo handle was developed in 1947. The trademark with he red striped webbing. was introduced later on, in 50s and became an insignia.

Gucci greatest classics were created in the 50s and included different sort of items like shoes, luggage, ties, and the celebrated handbags including the bamboo handle. In 1953 Gucci died but his family took the company to new heights. They opened stores in Palm Beach, London, Paris, Tokyo, and Beverly Hills. In the 60s they made the name Gucci sound like the name 'chic' with the aid of cinema stars like Grace Kelly and Audrey Hepburn. After the Hollywood advertising, Jackie Kennedy photographed with a Gucci bag on her shoulder . The bag name has been modified into "Jackie 0". Nowadays there are a lot of lines and directions in the company and it has diverse products like he "Flora" foulard which was actually created by Rodolfo Gucci for Grace Kelly, jewelry, suitcases, watches, sports articles, silk scarves, belt clasps containing the Guccio Gucci initials, which had been introduced in 1964, eyeglasses, ties, leather fashions, colognes, perfumes and cosmetics.
