Before Ralph Lauren got into fashion he studied business science and served in the army.

In 1967 Lauren founded his business without having any information or training in the design field. he began with a tie shop and than he continued with menswear. In 1971 he started his women's label.

New York magazine considers Ralph Lauren as one of the fashion industrys biggest hitters.
